turn thermoststate down 3 degrees and keep fan on manual. This action maintains air flow thgrought the house at a constant temperature eliminating hot and cold spot of air a more even temperature thruout the home whereever you are.

replace night lights with small wall sockete 7 amps.lights,leaving lamps of 40 or 60 or 100 off.

replace ambiance lights with real small amperage light bulbs. Delivers the romance more effectively. even use new christmas tree lights.

  • Fan on manual = power waster

    Typical house fans use 1-2 amps, that's 120 to 240 watts running all the time. It's like leaving 2-6 lamps on all the time.

  • Night lights

    You want to make sure you get the .1 watt LED night lights (.3 watt is good too). Some night lights use as much as 5 watts.

  • Fan on manual

    I agree, somewhat, with Belcat's comment about the furnace fan using power.......BUT, when I think of it, I try to have the furnace fan on at least part of every day....more so in the Summer, to keep things in the basement from getting "skanky" AND to deliver some of that nice cool air to the upstairs; cheaper than A/C.
